Detroit Legal Innovation & Technology – Detroit, MI – 1/20/2015 @ 5:30pm
We will begin at 5:30 with networking and kick off the program at 6:00 p.m. We will discuss 2015 events and then move on to a few talks on legal innovation and technology.
The program will include the following talks:
• “Establishing an Online Presence” — Patrick Ellis, Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, legal project manager. Social media, blogs, and other forms of new media can help lawyers exponentially increase career opportunities and develop business. Used effectively, an online presence helps lawyers develop their brand, learn and establish expertise, and build a network. Pat will provide a road map and lead discussion about developing an online presence.
• “Law School Incubator & Residency Programs” — Apollo K. Upshaw, Bodman & Elisabeth Sussex, Wayne State University Law School. The ABA has described Law firm incubator and residency programs as “emerging . . . models that enable newly admitted lawyers to acquire the range of skills necessary to launch successful practices.” Apollo and Liz will share details about the Wayne Alumni Law Group, which provides recent Wayne Law graduates experience running a startup-focused law practice.
